Before we left our spot at the Gold Coast for the trek to the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard, we stepped into the NFR Tonight show hosted by my friend, Dan Miller, and rodeo greats Donnie Gay and Joe Beaver and announcers Bob Tallman and Boyd Polhamus.

It looked like a fun show, and I’m sure we’ll be there again, even though my wife couldn’t have her Pendleton at the Gold Coast. But we ventured to the South Point to visit friends.

But as we were leaving, we might have heard the line of the night from two-time bull riding world champion J.W. Harris:

“I wanted to be the first to say that I’m here with the Gay Beaver.”
